SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Payroll/Benefits Administrator will be responsible for the processing of bi-weekly payroll for a growing company with currently around 200 employees using the Ceridian Dayforce System. Also, the Payroll/Benefit Admin will handle all administration for our benefit program, currently using Sunlife. Along with being organized, you have great time management skills, the ability to multi task and enjoy taking on new and interesting challenges. This position will also assist with Accounts Payable and clerical tasks.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Payroll:
    • Input and verification of hours for each employee on our bi-weekly payroll cycle including Regular time; Overtime; Stat Days; Vacation Days; etc.
    • Managing apprenticeship leaves for tradespeople going to school, leaves of absence, etc.
    • Audit and review salaries, wages, time off requests, accruals, etc.
    • Answer questions and train others on how to read paystubs, access online content and the app, etc.
    • Learn yourself and train others on the Dayforce system, utilizing all functionality including recruiting, on-boarding, employee file maintenance, etc.
  • Benefits:
    • All admin including sign ups, inputting into website, adjusting (for additions and deletions), etc.
    • Review and reconcile premiums against benefits for each employee each pay
    • Answer questions to the employees about the benefits, how to use them, how to access online and app features, etc.

 

This position will also require the incumbent to help perform some basic accounting tasks such as account reconciliation, journal entry, other ad hoc duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference will be given to those designated or working towards
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a payroll role using a web based payroll system
    • Preference will be given to a candidate with previous Dayforce experience

·         1-3 years’ experience administering a company benefit program

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Excellent organization skills with high attention to quality, detail, and accuracy

·         Able to balance multiple priorities with strict deadlines in a fast-paced, lean environment
