SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, this position requires you to be the company in the eye of our customers that we serve throughout the city. Using the company vehicle, the Parts Driver is primarily responsible for delivering and picking up parts and/or equipment for/or on behalf of the Dealership. This position is a direct point of contact with many of our customers through our deliveries. A high degree of quality customer service externally is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, wholesale accounts and vendors. Some Customers require their delivery to be put away in the order of their company set up.
• Quick response time to a Customer’s complaint.
• Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Request the recipient’s signature on each delivery entry or on the invoice.
• Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed. Advise Parts Manager if truck needs major repairs and/or maintenance.
• Maintain a clean driver’s abstract.
• Helps Shipper receive parts and put away in correct order. Helps tag shelves.
• Notifies Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
• Report any accidents or incidents that require attention
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in similar role
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 an asset)
• Must be able to take direction from Supervisor
• Demonstrated skill in performing with a high level of quality
• Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Experience in the industry is an asset
