SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Material Handler/Picker will accept, count, and move incoming deliveries to the warehouse or specific departments. They will properly place items for storage, move material around as needed, and may deliver outgoing materials to the shipping area. The Material Handler/Picker will be required to lift and move material from trucks, pallets, or racks. They will also be required to move inventory via electric reach trucks, forklifts and order pickers. This position requires physical strength and endurance, as well as the ability to lift 50-75 pounds consistently through the day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Material Handler/Picker will be responsible for the following:
- Pulls and fills orders from stock and sends to the service technicians in their bays
- Perform daily inventory verifications and reports discrepancies
- Organizes shipments and ensures they are complete and in good order
- Assists all Parts and Service personnel (retail and shop) in locating required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
- Puts all stock and supplies in appropriate location in the Warehouse or delivers product to the appropriate Manager(s)
- Maintains appearance of Warehouse and staging areas (Dusting/wiping, sweeping, etc.)
- Operate reach trucks and forklifts in a safe and appropriate manner
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a positive attitude and high energy
- Experience in warehousing is an asset
- Electric reach truck or forklift experience is an asset
- Must be able to lift up to 50-75lbs consistently throughout the day
- Experience in the heavy equipment or commercial vehicle industry is an asset
- Ability to understand and effectively use computer equipment including computers for diagnostics
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment safely
- Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
- Able to communicate in clear English with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations and company policy/procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
