Summary

Under the direction of the Parts Manager, this position requires the Parts Person to assist all customers (retail, wholesale and shop), whether in person, on the phone or through email, in selecting the required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. Along with being organized, this position requires time management skills, the ability to multi task and willing to take on new and interesting challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Has a willingness to learn and effectively use the company business system (Procede) and all other online programs (CAT, Cummins, Paragon, etc.) required to fulfill the duties of a parts person and serve our customer.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and solid work ethics
  • Acknowledge all customers as they arrive in the facility and serve them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides a high level of service to all of our customers, internal or external. Communicates well with and supports other dealership personnel and departments.
  • Fulfilling orders with on hand parts, processing orders from our PDC’s, other dealers or suppliers and notifying customers of any ETA updates or notifying them when parts arrive.
  • Replenishes assigned display areas, ensures pricing is accurate and keeping the area clean and organized for customers.
  • Participates in all training programs that are made available and attend all department meetings.
  • Process credit card and debit transactions as well as performing product return inspections and completing refunds and core credits.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that require attention immediately.
  • Other duties may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Parts experience, preference will be given to candidates with heavy truck experience.
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure and busy environment safely.
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers.

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic, while learning, will perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to potentially being specialized in particular areas of repair. The Apprentice must be registered, or looking to register, through the Alberta and Industry Training (AIT) program to be eligible for employment.

This position requires a candidate to work four 10 hour shifts per week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside an assigned Journeyman technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service, maintenance and repairs
  • Perform oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, minor and major repairs as directed
  • Able to read and comprehend the repair order, diagnose cause of any malfunction, perform repair and complete job(s) assigned.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Does not perform unauthorized repairs
  • Communicate with parts department efficiently to obtain needed parts. Know all the required parts that will be needed to complete the job you are assigned
  • Saves and tags parts, with date, code(s), model number and serial number of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Road test vehicles when required or refer to the designated test technician.
  • Ensures that customers’ vehicle is kept clean. Notifies the Service Supervisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins must complete all self-paced modules and all class training as is scheduled for technician
  • Participates in company and manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
  • Keeps shop area neat, clean and safe. Reports and safety concerns to the Supervisor Immediately .
  • Reports any accidents or incidents that require attention immediately.
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a registered Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic, or looking to register
  • Familiarity with Freightliner, Detroit, Cat, Cummins, Allison, etc. units is an asset

Under the supervision of the Body Shop Manager, the Journeyman Auto Body Technician will be responsible for repair or replacing damaged body parts back to Pre-Accident Condition with factory and dealership specifications. Along with being organized, this position requires time management skills, the ability to multitask and take on new and interesting challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Journeyman will be responsible for:

  • Performing vehicle repair to restore the structural integrity of the damage unit
  • Complete frame structural repair, body sheet metal, plastic, fiberglass component replacement and alignments
  • Must know how to read estimates and follow repair procedure
  • Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders and wrenches, and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment
  • Adjust or align headlights, wheels, and brake systems
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders
  • Other duties as required

Reporting to the Outside Parts Manager, the Outside Parts Salesperson solicits parts business from assigned accounts through business associates / acquaintances, phone contacts and prospecting to obtain new potential customers. Able to multi task, has good time management skills and enjoys new and interesting challenges. Outgoing personality with a love for dealing with a variety of people. Understands that Customer satisfaction is our greatest commitment and quality service is our greatest accomplishment. Aids in the achievement of Department / Dealership goals and objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a public relations liaison for the dealership.
  • High-energy, Business-to-Business sales calls to market, promote and provide customer solutions
  • Create a business plan and call schedule, ensuring customer requirements are being met in a timely and professional manner
  • Visits assigned customers on a regular schedule that serves and services the customer’s needs. Provides objective and solution driven guidance
  • Prospects for new customers and gives the list of potential customers to the Parts Manager on a weekly basis to determine the potential
  • Sets-up a game plan to solicit new potential customers and how to best serve the customers’ needs as determined by the Parts Manager
  • Keeps an accurate and up-to-date record of all calls made
  • Ability to ‘close deals’! Be willing to make sales and cold calls daily to existing and new business prospects
  • Projects a positive presence in negotiations to maximize revenue and profits
  • Grows the business yearly by a feasible percentage as determined by the GM and the Parts Manager
  • Communicates parts orders to the parts counter people. Advises whether customer order status is stock or emergency. Checks to see if there will be any possible problems with delivery or availability
  • Reviews any special orders with the Parts Manager and obtains their approval prior to ordering.
  • Work professionally and co-operatively with other employees. Maintains a good attitude and solid work ethics
  • Works with Parts, Service and Sales Departments to meet and exceed customer’s expectations
  • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
  • Assists in the collection of past-due accounts
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales Experience in the heavy equipment or commercial vehicle industry is an asset
  • Punjabi Speaking considered an asset.
  • Must be professional and organized and able to work in a high pressure environment safely
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
  • Able to communicate in clear English with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations and company policy/procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
